Exodus 14:10–16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.
One of the hardest truths in discipleship is realizing that God often asks us to move before we see the miracle. The Israelites stood between their past and their future. Behind them was Egypt. Ahead of them was the Red Sea.
Fear was real. The obstacle was real. The uncertainty was real. Yet God’s instruction was simple:
“Move forward.”
Many of us are standing in similar places today. We are waiting for certainty. Waiting for confirmation.
Waiting for every detail to make sense. But faith does not require complete understanding. Faith requires trust.
Throughout GROW, we have wrestled with courage, follow-through, fear, and trust. We have talked about taking small steps even when we cannot see the full picture.
Exodus reminds us that the miracle was not only in the parting of the sea. The miracle was also in the obedience of the people. They chose to move. And God made a way.
Weekly Closing Reflection
What if the breakthrough you’re waiting for is on the other side of your next step of obedience?

Reflections:
• God speaks specific, actionable words: “lift,” “stretch,” “divide.”
• The instruction requires obedience before any visible change.
• The staff—already used in previous miracles (Exodus 7:20; 8:5)—reminds Moses of God’s consistent power. Bible Hub
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help me to obey you today. Remind me of the times you have intervened miraculously in my life. May these memories inspire me with the courage to act now. In your precious name, Amen
