Summer Outreach Update – Week 1

Every Person Has a Story

Hope 1 Ministries kicked off its summer outreach season by partnering with a local food distribution program serving families in our community.

While helping bag food and assist with distribution, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with many of the individuals and families who came through the line. What stood out most was not the food itself, but the stories behind each person.

One grandmother shared that she was picking up food for her daughter and grandchildren, including two young children with special needs. Another woman spoke about wanting to grow her own vegetables because rising grocery costs have made it difficult to keep food on the table. I also met young adults making plans for trade school and preparing for their futures.

These conversations served as a reminder that every person who comes for assistance carries more than a need. They carry responsibilities, dreams, challenges, and hopes for a better future.

At Hope 1 Ministries, we believe community outreach begins with listening. When we come alongside individuals, families, and community partners, we come with one simple question:

“What do you need, and how can we serve?”

As the summer continues, we look forward to providing children’s books, supporting families, encouraging young people, and building meaningful relationships throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who supports the work of Hope 1 Ministries. Your generosity allows us to serve with dignity, compassion, and hope—one person, one family, and one conversation at a time.
