Don’t Let Fear Rewrite Your Story

Exodus 14:11-12 Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians [as slaves] than to die in the wilderness.”

Grace and Peace! When fear takes over, it often causes us to look backward. The Israelites began talking as if slavery had been better than freedom. Fear distorted their perspective. How often do we do the same thing? We look back at old relationships, old habits, old jobs, or old seasons and forget why God brought us out in the first place. God did not deliver Israel so they could return to Egypt. And God has not brought you this far to send you backward.

Hope 1 Reflection

Sometimes growth feels uncomfortable because it requires leaving behind what is familiar.

Formation Insight

Fear exaggerates the past and minimizes God’s future.

The wilderness was a place of testing for the Israelites. Our trials can be opportunities for growth and deeper reliance on God, recognizing His sovereignty in every situation. Bible Hub

Reflection Question.

  • What old mindset is God asking you to leave behind?

Prayer: Lord, help me trust where You are leading me instead of longing for what You have already delivered me from. Amen
