🌿“Courage That Stays”

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

🌱 There is a type of courage that does not just start well — it stays. It remains in faith when emotions shift, when seasons change, and when clarity takes time to develop. God is not only calling us to begin — He is forming us to remain.

🔥 Formation Insight:

This week, courage is becoming the stability of identity.

  • not easily shaken
  • not dependent on outcomes
  • rooted in God’s presence

💛 Real-Life Connection:

In Hope 1, we have seen people come and go through seasons — but those who remain begin to carry something deeper: consistency, trust, and formation.

That is courage maturing.

🪞 Reflection Questions:

  • What helps me stay steady in faith?
  • Where is God strengthening my identity?
  • What does it look like for me to remain?

✨ Closing: Courage matures when it learns how to stay.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

How can we apply “be strong and courageous” in our daily challenges? Living It Out: Five Daily Practices

1. Start with God’s Word. – Read or listen to a passage before any media intake. – Anchor on verses like Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power”.

2. Speak Truth Aloud. – Replace fearful self-talk with Scripture: “The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1).

3. Act in Small Steps of Obedience. – Make the phone call, confess the sin, take the opportunity; courage grows with use (1 Corinthians 16:13).

4. Lean on the Body of Christ. – Share burdens; let trusted believers remind you, “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you,’ ” (Hebrews 13:5-6).

5. Pray with Expectation. – Stand on Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”. Bible Hub

Declaration: Today, I will not be ruled by fear or discouragement. I will be strong and courageous because the Lord my God is with me wherever I go. (Joshua 1:9)

Prayer: Father God, Thank You for reminding me to be strong and courageous. When fear, uncertainty, or discouragement try to fill my heart, help me remember that You are with me wherever I go. Strengthen my faith today. Give me the courage to take the next step, even when I cannot see the whole path ahead. Help me trust Your wisdom, follow Your leading, and stand firm in Your promises. Lord, replace my fear with confidence, my worry with peace, and my hesitation with faith-filled action. Let me walk boldly in the purpose You have for my life, knowing that You go before me and will never leave me. Thank You for Your constant presence, Your unfailing love, and Your strength that carries me through every challenge. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
