In Honor of National Senior Day

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright, he is my Rock (Psalm92:14-15)

Senior Citizens Day is a day of celebration in the United States dedicated to elderly people. Senior Citizens Day is a special holiday in the US where people show appreciation and love to their grandparents and elderly friends. May we honor the elderly because their accomplishments and contributions shaped the modern society that we’re privileged to experience.

What is the message of Senior Citizens Day?

One of the important messages of Senior Citizens Day is to honor the elderly because their accomplishments and contributions shaped the modern society that we’re privileged to experience.

Honor Our Elderly Loved Ones

One of the core reasons why we should celebrate Senior Citizens Day is to honor our elderly loved ones, specifically our grandparents. It’s up to you how you’re going to honor them. You can send them gifts, write them poems, send them greeting cards, or cook their favorite meals for them

“We live in a youth-obsessed culture that is constantly trying to tell us that if we are not young, and we’re not glowing, and we’re not hot, that we don’t matter. I refuse to let a system or a culture or a distorted view of reality tell me that I don’t matter. I know that only by owning who and what you are can you start to step into the fullness of life. Every year should be teaching us all something valuable. Whether you get the lesson is really up to you.”

– Oprah Winfrey

SEEK GOD ON BEHALF OF OUR ELDERLY

That God peace and strength will be poured out on everyone who is advanced in years. Pray that they may be honored, that they may be cared for, that loneliness be banished through lasting friendships and family bonds; that sickness be lifted; that they may live to see their prayers answered, that their later years will be significant, reflecting the glory of God.

How should we honor and assist the senior citizens?

The best way to honor seniors is to spend time with them and listen to their stories, and also take the initiative to provide them with assistance when they require it.
