Beatitudes/Attitudes-Part-2

9.13.ThePoorInSpiritBlessed_964262686

Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit

And He opened His mouth and taught them,  saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mathew 5:2-3 ESV).

Poor in Spirit- those who admit their spiritual inadequacy and cast themselves on mercy of God (Mathew 5:3).  The poor in spirit are the opposite of proud, the arrogant the self righteous who boast of their own goodness.

Our heaven Father sent Jesus  into the earth to teach and by example challenge us to think on a higher level therefore shifting  our attitudes from earthly to heavenly.  The Beatitudes teaching will challenge you to come out of carnality into a level of the Spirit where we have access to God’ Grace and to be blessed in doing so.

May The Lord Bless you and your family. Amen!

MT

A truly Christian love, either to God or men, is a humble broken-hearted love. The desires of the saints, however earnest, are humble desires. Their hope is a humble hope; and their joy, even when it is unspeakable and full of glory, is a humble broken-hearted joy, and leaves the Christian more poor in spirit, and more like a little child, and more disposed to a universal lowliness of behaviour.
