So the people took their dough before the yeast was added and carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing. 35 The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. 36 The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians. Exodus 12:34–36
Reflection:
Israel leaves Egypt not only with urgency, but with a shift in identity. They carry what they can, but they cannot carry everything from their past into their future.
Leaving always involves release. Some things are not meant to travel with you into what God is forming next — patterns, mindsets, or dependencies that no longer fit your next season.
Courage is not only stepping forward — it is also letting go. Formation requires space. And space is created through release.
🌱 Caption: God was not only bringing Israel out of Egypt — He was changing how they saw themselves. Years of oppression had shaped their thinking. But God was leading them from slavery into sonship, from survival into freedom.
Healing takes time. Formation takes time. Transformation takes time. But small acts of obedience, compassion, and follow-through matter more than we realize.
Just as the Israelites were ready to leave at a moment’s notice, we should be prepared to follow God’s leading in our lives. Bible Hub
