“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:22-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Put off the former things. Put off the former conversation. To “Put off something” requires your diligent participation. Do not go back to the old man — the old way of doing things. Surrender to the new. Surrender to Christ. Let the old way die. Let the old conversation depart from your mouth. Let the new man rise up. Let the former things go and let your heart be renewed in Christ. 

to take a fresh breath and to let God renew your attitude and spirit. Then you are ready to put on your new self, modeled after the very likeness of God: truthful, righteous, and holy.

Ephesians 4:23-24

The old man is filled with deceit. The past is filled with lust and corruption. Choose to surrender to Christ’s Way of doing things. Pattern your life after His Word. Let His Word shape your life. Let His Word guide your heart. Put off the former and embrace the new things of Christ. Galatians‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ declares, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Be not entangled with the old. Surrender to the new. Yield to the new. Bow to God. Let Christ lead you. Let His Power transform you from the inside out. Put off the former things of the world. Embrace and actively take hold of the new. 

Let Christ set you apart. Choose to surrender your body to Christ. Make the choice to yield your body to Him. Yield your members to the One who formed you. Yield your thoughts over to Him. Yield your ways over to Him. Yield your heart over to Him.
