Grace And Peace Family!
David is the shepherd. The Lord is David’s shepherd, and David knows exactly what this means. The comfort it brings because that is the role of the shepherd – to protect and look after the sheep. It’s a skilled job, requiring courage and bravery. David knows that he is protected and looked after by God, so he lacks nothing.
Sheep are nervous around running waters, so still or quiet waters are helpful for the sheep and the shepherd. When sheep lie down, it means they feel completely safe and secure. Green pastures mean plenty of food – time to eat and feed the sheep, to protect them and ready them for times when there is little food.
In John 10, Jesus says in verse 11, ’I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep’. And then in verse 14, ’I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me’. Jesus is our shepherd, so we lack nothing because He knows how to care for us and protect us from all the things that come our way. He knows us, He loves us and has given His life so that we might have eternal life. The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want.
A Prayer for Today Are you ready to receive God’s forgiveness and start a new life with Christ?God promised that for those who believe in Jesus, there is no condemnation. He sent Jesus to save you from your sin. His death on the cross paid for every wrong you’ve ever done or will do. And by sacrificing himself for your sins and giving you his righteousness, Jesus made it possible for you to have a relationship with God the Father. The good news doesn’t stop there. God also raised Jesus from the dead, proving his power over sin and death. And that makes it possible for you to spend eternity with him in heaven. If you’re ready to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, start by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I believe that he died for my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust him as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. “If you just prayed to accept Jesus, please email me at hope14me@yahoo.com and let me know about it. DAILY DEVOTION – HOPE4ME (hope14me.org) The Word of God is like a lamp that provides light in a darkened room. When its truths are embraced, it shines light into every sphere of life, bringing understanding and enlightenment and eradicating the ignorance that governs darkened minds. The Scriptures are God’s lamp to give continuous light to a people or society that would lie in darkness if the source of that light was removed. Only the light of God’s Word drives away spiritual darkness — which is why demonic forces hate the Light and the Light-bearers! We invite you to join us for this week’s devotional as we dive into God’s Word together and learn how to live victoriously for him!
