Unity In The Family

FAMILY

One of the greatest blessings we can receive in this life is the love of a family, and the bonds that exist between its members are sacred. It’s no accident that the Bible is filled with passages that explain our relationship to God by comparing it to our relationship with our father. Our earthly families are intended to reflect God’s unconditional love. Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves His church, and wives are called to devote themselves to their husbands as the church devotes itself to Christ. Emulating the love that exists between God and His church in a family is no easy feat….https://tonyevans.org/tony-evans-on-the-christian-family/

“The family is the place where we learn to live with one another, to live with young people and with those who are older. And by being united in our differences—young people, the elderly, adults, children—we evangelize with our example of life.”

Pope Francis

PRAYING FOR FAMILIES 2022

“Let us pray for families around the world. May each and every family embody and experience unconditional love and advance in holiness in their daily lives.”

Father, we bring all of our family’s concerns before you in prayer. There are so many concerns that each of us have. We pray for protection from job loss and sickness. We pray that you will protect us and guide our steps each and every day. We pray that you will bless our family with everything we need.

Our family will speak your words out loud when we are weak or frightened. In Psalm 32:7-8 we are reminded, you are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Always remind us of who you are and what you can do. You are bigger than all of our problems or worries. You provided the perfect example of strength in the midst of extreme adversity. Give our family your strength to come together as a family should. Provide comfort for each of us and help us to also comfort one another.

Give us wisdom to make the best choices for our family. Give us grace to trust in you even when we don’t see immediate answers. Give us hope to carry on in spite of the circumstances around us. We thank you for hearing and answering our prayer. We thank you for your constant care and peace. Thank you, Lord, for your words of comfort and strength, In your name, Amen.

Prayer for Your Children

Father, Your Word is true, and I believe it. Therefore, in the Name of Jesus, I believe in my heart and say with my mouth that the Word of God prevails over my children. Your Word says that You will pour out Your Spirit upon my offspring and You’re blessing upon my descendants. I believe and say that my children are wise and that they take heed to and are the fruit of godly instruction and correction. I love my children and I will diligently discipline them early. Because of that, they give me delight and rest.

Father, I take Your Word that says You will contend with him who contends with me, and You give safety to my children and ease them day by day. They are blessed when they come in and when they go out. I confess that You, Lord, give Your angels special charge over my children to accompany and defend and preserve them. I believe they find favor, good understanding and high esteem in Your sight, Lord, and in the sight of man.

I confess that my children are disciples taught of the Lord and obedient to Your will. Great is their peace and undisturbed composure. I believe I receive wisdom and counsel in bringing up my children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. And Your Word declares that when they are old they will not depart from it. So I commit them to Your keeping and I know and have confident trust that they are watched over and blessed of the Lord all the days of their lives, in Jesus’ Name.
