Finding Strength in God’s Promises

Deuteronomy 31:6-8-Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.  The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be

If you were always encouraged, how would your life be different? How would your life be different in your mind? How would your life be different if you prayed? How would your feelings, connections, and viewpoint change?

Where planning and training cannot take you, godly courage and strength can. Your past performance doesn’t matter to courage. Responding to failure and disappointment requires courage. Failure is not fatal, as courage teaches you.

In life, failure is not fatal. Courage is sometimes the forgotten component when it comes to finishing. Sometimes you don’t need more training or equipping. You just need courage. In fact, many times when we feel overwhelmed, it’s not that we’ve taken on too much, it’s that we’ve taken on too little of what really strengthens us. You need to overdo yourself on courage – daily!

The God of abundant courage and strength makes this promise to you as he did to Joshua. “Be strong and courageous!… Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 rallies God’s people to fearless obedience. Strength and courage are possible because the Lord personally accompanies and permanently commits Himself to His own. When His presence is prized above every threat, fear fades, faith stands, and the future opens to obedient conquest. Bible Hub

“The remedy for discouragement is the Word of God. When you feed your heart and mind with its truth, you regain your perspective and find renewed strength.” ~ Warren Wiersbe

Reflections: In Deuteronomy 31, Moses begins his legacy farewell speech. Twice Moses told the children of Israel to “be strong and courageous.” He commanded them not to be afraid or terrified, not to worry and fret. He reiterated that God was with them. The uncertainty, the unknown, none of that mattered because greater was the One who was with them than the one who was in the world. God is with you just the same.

The path ahead is forward-MT

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being with me. Though I am tempted to be afraid, help me remember that You are not a faraway God. You are right here with me, and You know the way ahead. You have not left me, and You never will.
