The Beauty of the Gospel Message

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

When we consider the fall of humanity in the Garden of Eden—resulting in the curse of death—hope seems distant. But because of His unrelenting love, God the Father set into motion the greatest rescue plan the world has ever known, embodied in His Son, Jesus.

Imagine for a moment that you’ve just received the devastating news: you have been found guilty and sentenced to death for crimes you committed. How do you feel? What do you say? It seems there is no hope. But then, at the last moment, you receive a message informing you that your crimes have been completely and irrevocably forgiven. You are overwhelmed with wonder about who intervened on your behalf and how it all happened. At the same time, you feel an overwhelming sense of relief, joy, and gratitude toward the person who saved you.

This is great news that should be shared at every opportunity. When we receive the gift of salvation, our guilt, shame, and regret are replaced with life, hope, and redemption, all thanks to our Savior, Jesus. Isaiah 52 foretells the salvation and redemption that God is sending, announcing that this good news will be proclaimed on the mountains and throughout the world. We see this fulfilled in Luke 2, when the shepherds hurried to share the arrival of Jesus, the hope of the world! This is truly news worth sharing! I love that it states: All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished … Luke 2:18 NLT. The Good News: Refers to the message of peace, salvation, and God’s reign. In the New Testament, this is often associated with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Evangelism is a lifestyle, not an occasional program.

Reflections: The Good News is inherently beautiful; its worth transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary.

  • Sharing Good News: A Call to Action. Take some time today to reflect on your own story of salvation and the message of the Gospel. You might be at the beginning of understanding God’s saving grace, or you may know someone who needs to hear this good news. Pray that the Lord will open that person’s heart. Just as the messenger in Isaiah 52:7 is eager to deliver good news, we should feel a sense of urgency in sharing the Gospel, recognizing its life-changing power.

Prayer: Perfect Father, may we have gorgeously worn-out feet! You called us to go fish for people. May Your kingdom constantly multiply, as we, Your children, do Your will! I ask that more and more Christians be active in sharing their faith. Send more of us all over the world to share Your Gospel.
