Romans 12:12 constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast andpatient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength],
Why is hope important? Hope instills in us a desire to move forward, as no one wants to feel stagnant in life. When facing a dead end, a person will naturally seek a way out. “They shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31)!” This is true because God walks with us. As we grow old, He offers us the Living Water; when we are hungry, He provides the Living Bread. He lights our path, guides our steps, heals our diseases, and lifts us up when we stumble.
In our Christian journey, we may face various trials, but we must keep moving forward, knowing that we will never walk alone. We can “run and not grow weary” when our eyes are fixed on the goal. Like any athlete striving for excellence and aiming to be first, we must engage in rigorous training and discipline to prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead.
Believers in the Lord Jesus are likened to athletes. The question we must ask ourselves is: Did we strive to be the best and put forth our utmost effort in following His command to “go into all the world” and be His witnesses? When our goal is to become more like our Lord, our journey becomes swifter as we eagerly await His return!
Hope is powerful, yet a lack of hope is devastating. Without hope, simple situations can turn into unsolvable problems. Hope is one of the greatest gifts you can be given and one of the most valuable things you can lose.

Reflections: How can a believer “soar with wings like eagles” if they are still carrying the luggage of unforgiveness, hurts, resentments, and bitterness? Life’s issues need sorting out; it’s time for a “spring cleaning.” Discard the unwanted “luggage” from your life.
Prayer: God, the burden I am carrying feels heavier than I can bear on my own. I need Your strength, wisdom, and peace today. Please guide me and show me the best next step. Calm my anxious thoughts and remind me that I am not alone. Thank You for hearing me and for caring about every detail of my life. I trust that You are at work, even when I cannot see it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
