Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly
Favor refers to the approval we receive from God when we work for Him rather than for man. To have God’s favor, we must live according to the lifestyle He has outlined for us and seek Him daily. When we have the Lord’s favor, we are granted wisdom and understanding. This allows us to recognize our obstacles without being discouraged by them.
It is this favor that will lead to true blessings both within our personal lives as well as professional careers. If you scan the pages of your Bible, you’ll study the people who saved nations and changed history. You’ll discover that many of them had something in common. It wasn’t fame. It wasn’t a fortune. It wasn’t followers. They found favor.
We can’t produce God’s presence, but we can be positioned for it through humility and faithfulness. We must actively seek wisdom. We must assume the posture for God’s hand to rest on us. When you’re faithful, favor will find you. If you follow Jesus, the favor will follow you.
Ask for God’s favor every morning and ask Him to open your eyes to see it when it comes. Ask Him to help you recognize His favor when it shows up dressed like frustration, fear, or failure.
In a world striving for success, it’s easy to forget a favor. But God’s Word makes this clear: it’s the secret to leaving a legacy.
Through he has not promised to give riches and dignities, he has promised to give grace and glory to all that seek them in his appointed way. And what is grace, but heaven begun below, in the knowledge, love, and service of God? What is glory, but the completion of this happiness, in being made like to him, and in fully enjoying him for ever? Let it be our care to walk uprightly, and then let us trust God to give us every thing that is good for us. Bible Hub

Reflections: Pursuing God’s favor this week may involve asking for forgiveness. It may also mean standing firm in your beliefs or being more faithful in the little things. Don’t just pray for favor, live and lead in such a way that favor finds you!
Prayer: God, I come to you today. I am in search of the favor that you have blessed so many before me with. Provide me with the path necessary to reach your favor so I may walk in it. Allow me to have the wisdom to stay faithful to the large and the little things. Forgive my transgressions and give me the courage to continue walking in favor when my path becomes difficult. Amen.
