Romans 15:13- “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”
We inadvertently place our confidence in various things. Maintaining our confidence in our walk with Christ is not always inherent; it often takes reiteration and a resolve. As we wait on the return of Christ, life will need us to navigate the tension between experience and expectancy. It is the fuel we need to be joyful in the face of confusion. It keeps us whole amid brokenness. It encourages us in the waiting.
It’s hard to know what to do when the world seems like it’s falling apart. But we can trust him when we can’t control the world.
To be confident is to be peaceful. It means existing in the certainty of what we know. We believe this to be true. To be confident is to be assured, to have placed one’s trust in something steady, reliable, and worthy. We have confidence in our companionship with Christ, in the transformative nature of the Holy Spirit, and the resurrection power. Confidence stems from our sense of safety, our sense of being seen and known. Confidence inspires courage that extends beyond our reason or understanding. It emboldens us, fastens us, and fortifies us. It develops a godly grit, a tenacious trust, and a steadied sureness.
Our confidence is rooted in Christ. We have the luxury of resting our resolve in One who is worthy and able. He is the first fruit of many offspring, the seed from which we all bloom. Confidence bursts from us as effusive praise and extravagant worship. We have nothing to lose, for everything has been won.
Hope, joy, and peace, form a triad. They represent the attitude of the Christian in looking towards the future. This triad also reflects on the current. Bible Hub

Reflections: When you think about God, what gives you hope? Is it his love? His power? His justice?
- In hard times, double-down on time with God in prayer and in reading his Word. Look for ways to add more Scripture to your family’s day. We’re never too old to read a Psalm together before bed. Listen to it during car rides. Text it to each other during the day. Have a family competition to see who can memorize a verse fastest.
- Happiness, peace, hope. It is supernatural to have them in times like these. You can get them today as miraculous gifts by staying close to your Heavenly Father God and holding his hand.
Pray: Lord, I face again my inability to make all things right. I need you. I look to you for miracles, peace, and hope. Please hold me and my family close in your arms. Amen
