I am Confident!

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” Hebrews 10:36

Confidence

Today’s scripture verse recognizes that following God’s will often demands resilience and determination. It highlights the significance of placing our trust in God and overcoming challenges to bring our desires into harmony with His, thereby claiming the blessings He has in store for us. Indeed, if we are to be entirely honest, each of us has faced moments of uncertainty, unexpected events, and decisive endings in our lives. The results can vary widely, shaped by the diverse experiences we encounter. At times, we may feel completely in sync and driven towards our chosen path; this sense of optimism engulfs us, and we feel confident that we can confront any obstacle.

At times, humiliating or severe traumatic experiences may deflate us and instill a fear of trying again. These negative experiences can erode our confidence. However, I urge you to hold onto your confidence. If you stumble, rise, dust yourself off, and press on. You stand to lose too much by being defeated by a lack of confidence. Place God at the heart of your aspirations, trust in Him completely. He will strengthen you (Isaiah 41:10). For those who persevere, a great reward awaits. Allow Him to work within you!

God is not satisfied with mere formalities and external duties from those who do not persevere; such actions are met with great displeasure. However, those who have remained faithful through significant trials have every reason to hope for continued grace to live by faith until they achieve the ultimate reward of their faith and patience—the salvation of their souls. -Bible Hub

Great leaders are not recognized for times of flourishing. Instead, they become known as great because they endured hard times.

Reflections:    Affirmation: I am confident. I will persevere. Good success will come to me, because He is good.

  • Think of a time when you persevered under trial. What helped you the most?
  • What’s critical if we are to persevere under trial, according to Hebrews 10:36? How can we tell what the will of God is?
  • Name some antonyms to persevere. (Example: giving up, withdrawing, retreating) What do these words have in common?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, you are Lord of all creation, maker of heaven and earth. In you, we live and move and have our being. We confess that there are times we are not good witnesses for you in our workplaces. Thank you for maturing us, for opening our hearts and minds so that we can learn and grow to glorify you. Help us to be mature, strong, RARE leaders, to follow your will, and to bless others in our obedience to you. In Your Son’s name, we pray. Amen.
