Special Thank you to our special Guest Mrs. Audrey Young.

“I have had mentors over the years, and they have been invaluable. They have helped me prepare for opportunities.” – Condoleezza Rice. With that being said, I want to give a special shout-out and thank you to Hope 1 Ministries’ very special guest, Mrs. Audrey Young, a retired educator of 30+ years in the Hillsborough County School District. She is also a wife, mother, grandmother, and more. She has been a part of our lives for over 30 years. Mrs. Young comes with a wealth of information, having served as a Bible teacher and leader in her local church, and has mentored young women for as long as I have known her. She will tell you that she likes to come alongside young adults to provide encouragement and support. That is certainly what she brought into my life some 30 years ago. Mrs. Young shared many wonderful stories of her life and love for writing and journaling throughout the years and how her faith kept her grounded.

During the writing workshop, she often quoted Exodus 4:2-5: “The Lord said to him, ‘What is that in your hand?’ He said, ‘A staff.'” When God asked Moses what was in his hand, it was a powerful reminder for us that without God, we could do nothing. In pride, we would struggle to manifest any dream, desire, or vision that God has planned for our lives, and outside of God’s favor, we could do nothing to please Him. But if we are humble before God, all things are possible for those who believe in Him and the plans He has for our lives.
