“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”1 Peter 2:9
You are chosen. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation—a peculiar people. You are set aside for His Glory, Honor, and Delight. God delights in you—for you are His. For our God has called you out of darkness into His Marvelous Light. He has set you on high and He wants to display you for the world to see. For you are His Own. You are His child. The Amplified Version puts it this way: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9, AMPC).
You are a dedicated nation. God purchased you and has established you as His Own. By His Grace has God called you out of the darkness. It’s time to step into His marvelous Light. For by Grace are you saved, set free, and delivered.
God never wants you to feel inadequate or not good enough. He wants you to be aware of your weakness that you might lean into His strength but never for a second does He want you to diminish your value. “Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s thoughts about you, including your own.”

Let God mature and direct your path before you transform and change the world. You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that’s set apart to be used for His Glory. Reflection: We hide because of God’s holiness. But God has something very important to say about our personal value. What must you surrender to God to please Him more?
Prayer: Blessed Lord, I am a chosen person, a member of the royal priesthood, declared and created by You for Your own possession. You have placed me here to proclaim the perfection and beauty of who You are. You have called me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. You have sought me where I was hiding and asked me to stand boldly at Your throne of grace. You have given me fresh clothes, washed in Christ’s love. I am valuable to You. I am valuable to me. I am valuable to others around me. You have gifted me by creating me in the image of Yourself, complete with the ability and capacity to love, encourage, edify, and strengthen others. Open my eyes to my worth, Lord. Remove the feelings and emotions of shame, guilt, and regret. I am not condemned when I am in Christ Jesus. I walk freely with my head held high, with royal blood flowing in my veins. I am a child of the King. I am royalty. I am whole, well, emotionally stable, loving, kind, generous, giving, trusting, and lovable. Let me walk in that truth each and every day. Defend me from the fiery darts that Satan throws my way. Replace them with the compassions of Christ, in which I feel fully alive. In Christ’s name, Amen
