Can A Woman Forget?

Isaiah 49:15-16-Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

The Bible tells us of a time when the Israelites said, “God has forsaken us” The prophet reminds them and says, “I inscribed you in the palm of My hand…Can a nursing mother forget her child?… I will never forget you.” When your mind is bombarded with doubt, you have to remember to focus not on what you feel but what God’s Word says. Remember that God loves you– unconditionally. It’s through love that we overcome fear and doubt. Focus on His love for you, not on your love for God. Not on how big or small your love for God is. Focus on the amazing love that Jesus has for you.

Unconditional love is altruistic. It seeks the highest good of the beloved, even if that highest good is at some cost to the lover. Sometimes there is personal benefit in it, but more often, that isn’t the case. It is selfless, doing whatever is necessary (and sometimes going above and beyond that) to support, comfort, and generally benefit the beloved.

Let there be universal joy, for God will have mercy upon the afflicted, because of his compassion; upon his afflicted, because of his covenant. We have no more reason to question his promise and grace, than we have to question his providence and justice. Be assured that God has a tender affection for his church and people; he would not have them to be discouraged. Some mothers do neglect their children; but God’s compassions to his people, infinitely exceed those of the tenderest parents toward their children. His setting them as a mark on his hand, or a seal upon his arm, denotes his being ever mindful of them. As far as we have scriptural evidence that we belong to his ransomed flock, we may be sure that he will never forsake us. Let us then give diligence to make our calling and election sure and rejoice in the hope and glory of God. Bible Hub

Reflection: Today’s Challenge: Spend time focusing on God’s love for you. Find a Bible verse that demonstrates that to you personally and meditate on it today.

Prayer: Precious Lord and Heavenly Father, praise Your wonderful goodness and Your gracious compassion. What comfort I have in the promise that You will never forget me. Your promises of love are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
