God Revealed in Creation

But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you.

God Revealed in Creation

How do you see God revealed in creation?

As the verses of Job tell us, even the animals know this, as do the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea. The heavens proclaim the glory of God, after all, displaying His truth, proclaiming Himself. We, all of us, everything He created, are His offspring, and He holds us in His hands.

And why does He do this? As Paul preaches in Acts, it is so that we might seek Him, so that we might reach out for Him and find Him…for He is not far from any of us. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.  And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,” ‘For we are indeed his offspring (Acts 17:24-28 ESV). He is here. God is right here. Will you reach out your hands and rest in His presence, today?

In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Daily Reflections & Questions: How do you see God revealed in creation?

Daily Prayer: So we just humble ourselves before you today, oh God. Rid us of our prideful ideas of self-sustenance. And we know we have nothing without you. We praise you as the author of every good thing, including our every single breath. Help us to live today in total dependence on you in all that we do. And to point others to you, to help others see you as the sustainer you are. That they might give you glory.

And that they might know you as their sustainer. That they might know you as a sustainer. That they might experience eternal life in you, through our sharing the gospel with them. God may it be so. We pray all this in light of Job, chapter 12, verse 10, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
