“The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10
All too often many people allow what is rightfully theirs to be stolen. The reason for this is because the person does not fully understand all that was purchased for them at the cross of Christ. Therefore, they allow great promises to be taken captive. Jesus was chastised for our peace and has given it to us as a gift. Yet, peace is so easily taken from us by the worries and cares of this life.
The thief came only to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come to give life and life abundantly.” The description of the thief is opposed to that of the shepherd, who constantly goes in and out and finds pasture. His visits are but rare, and when he comes it is but for his own selfish purposes, and for the ruin of the flock. Each detail of his cruel work is dwelt upon, to bring out in all the baseness of its extent the corresponding spiritual truth. –Bible Hub
The thief comes to kill, steal and to destroy everything that God has given you. Christ came so that you might have life and life more abundantly. In fact, John 10:10 AMPC declares, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” Christ came to set you free.
Surrender your heart and your hands to God. Let Christ lead your character in business, in government, in private and in public, in the community and at home, in the workplace and in the Boardroom. Let God lead your decisions. Let Christ lead every aspect of your life. Build your life’s framework on His Word. Choose to build with Christ.
Christ wants every area of your life to overflow with His Goodness, His Mercy and His Blessing — He wants your life to thrive and flourish. He wants you to be a blessing to others. He doesn’t want you to hoard it all for yourself. There’s a difference between greed and God’s overflow. Greed is selfish. Greed is man-centric. Greed does not focus on God. Greed is based in fear. Greed is based in lack. There is no fear in God. There is no lack in God. Greed is not of God. In fact, Proverbs 10:22 KJV declares, “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” God does not add sorrow — He wants you to be Blessed.
Christ is stronger than your bondage. Christ is more powerful than your struggle. John 10:10 MSG declares, “A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” Christ wants to give you a life that exceeds your expectations. He wants to give you a life that overflows. Surrender to God and let Him lead every aspect of your life. The enemy wants to steal your harvest. The enemy wants to steal your joy. The enemy wants to steal your peace. The enemy wants to steal your stability. The enemy wants to steal everything that God has given you. Christ came to set you free from the bondage of the past and the cycle of stagnation.
Christ wants to give you a life that exceeds your expectations. He wants to give you a life that overflows.
The thief wants you and me to stop and shrink back, but we should say “NO WAY!” and submit yourselves to God and his abundant life! Dear saints, God desires for us to have an abundant life that is full and overflowing. This is a life filled with the richness of God’s nourishment and abundance of spiritual possessions such as truth and grace (John 1:17). Grace is the key to abundant life as it is in our weakness God’s strength is perfected (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). We must determine to fight the good fight of faith while taking back our lives. Determine to live a life full of God’s Spirit, love, peace, joy, grace, mercy, kindness, and power.

Daily Actions & Reflections: Allow God to possess all of you as you gain possession of all He has for you. Ask God what has been taken from you? Lay hold on the unspeakable joy that allows us to enjoy constant, increasing blessings from God’s presence.
Daily Prayer: Father God, I ask that you help me to trust you with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding but in all my ways acknowledge you, knowing that you will direct my paths. Lord help my life to be full of You, full of Your love, full of your grace, full of Your peace, and full of Your power. Jesus, thank You for making a way for me to enter the abundance of God. Is there any place in me where I’m allowing the thief to steal, kill, or destroy? Is there anything I’m holding back from You?
