August 31st: Join Us In A Community Conversations About Mental Health

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:4 NIV

God Cares About Our Menal Health

God has always cared about our mental health. Our peace matters to Him. And taking care of our mental health is very vital and important for the community. Therefore, we must remove the stigma of mental health. First, we should have open conversations on mental health. This will reduce the shame and secrecy linked with mental illness. Second, we need to encourage people to seek help if they are struggling with mental health problems. We should also encourage individuals whose friends or family are struggling to connect them to help.

Mental health problems affect nearly every family. Yet as a nation, we have too often struggled to have an open and honest conversation about these issues. Misperceptions and fears of social consequences keep people silent. Discomfort related to talking about these issues with others and discrimination also contributes to the silence.

Struggling with mental health does not make you less of a Christian or less than a person. In fact, nobody is less than a person if they have any type of mental illness. Each individual is made in God’s Image — each person is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Meanwhile, most people with mental illnesses can recover if they get help. They can lead happy, productive, and full lives. This community conversation will give us a chance to learn more about mental health issues. People across the nation are planning community conversations. They aim to assess how mental health problems affect their communities. They will also discuss topics related to the mental health of young people. In this process, they might take steps to improve mental health in their families. They might also take steps in schools and communities. This could involve establishing or enhancing mental illness prevention. It could also include promoting mental health, increasing public education and awareness, early identification, treatment, crisis response, and recovery.

A heart full of joy and goodness makes a cheerful face, but when a heart is full of sadness the spirit is crushed.

You Are Not Alone.

God loves you. He created you for a purpose. He created you for fulfilment.  He believes in you. Intentionally remind yourself who you are in Christ.  “God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will.  Expect love, love, and more love! (Jeremiah 31:3 Msg)
