The path we walk is charted by faith, not by what we see with our eyes.
II Corinthians 5:7
Having faith means that we believe what God says even before it happens. If we only believed things that God said after we already saw them happen, it really wouldn’t take that much faith or trust at all because we would already have proof. The point of faith is that we have to trust, believing that God already knows what will happen and has our best interests in mind. Sometimes it can be tempting to lose hope and to not trust in Jesus when we are constantly surrounded by hate and bad things in the world. After a while, we start to feel worn down and tired.
Paul, one of the first pastors, knew how hard it could be to keep trusting God when there is so much brokenness in the world. He encourages us by reminding us that we “live by faith, not by sight while we are on the earth.” Our hope is in Jesus, and while we are on the earth, we have to remind ourselves of the faith we have for the future because of our relationship with Him.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Walk” is, ‘peripateō’ (G4043) which means, “To make one’s way, to progress, to make due use of opportunities, to live, to regulate one’s life, to conduct one’s self.” Choose to walk by faith. Choose to progress by faith. Choose to regulate your life by faith. Choose to advance by faith. Choose to steward your God-given opportunities by faith. The Amplified Version puts it this way, “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMPC.
The presence of fear does not mean you have no faith. Fear visits everyone. But make your fear a visitor and not a resident.

Today’s Prayer: Today, reflect on living by faith, not by sight. What does it mean to trust in God even though we can’t see Him? Take a moment to draw, journal, or write to God about verse 7, which says, “we live by faith, not by sight.”
Today’s Prayer: I make a quality decision today to meditate on the Word of God day and night, and to be a doer of the Word, not a hearer only. As I do this, I will become prosperous and have good success in everything I set my hand to do.
For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.
