Faith Over Feelings

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Hebrews 10:35

Sometimes, the hardest thing about having faith is that we have to choose it even when we don’t feel like it. There will be days in our journey with Jesus when we just don’t feel like trusting that God’s way is best for us. Our feelings will tell us that what we want is best, that we should follow whatever makes sense in the moment, and that our emotions never lie to us. Those things simply aren’t true. Feelings fade. They don’t last forever, but faith does.

God does know what’s best for us. He will never leave us, and He loves us more than anyone else. We can actively choose faith over feelings by reading our Bible even when we’re tired, praying even if we don’t know exactly what to say, and living by Jesus’ directions for our life instead of by what everyone around us is saying. It’s not always easy to choose faith over feelings, but it is worth it. Choosing faith in Jesus no matter how we feel will always be the right choice. So, don’t let the enemy rob you of your confidence and boldness before God. And don’t let him rob you of God’s best for your life.

All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen.

RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Today’s Action:  Today, choose faith over your feelings. Take some time today to write a letter to God. Tell Him honestly how you are feeling in this moment; then ask Him to give you the courage it takes to live by faith instead of by feelings.

Today’s Prayer: Thank You, Father, that because of the blood of Jesus I am good enough to come boldly before Your throne of grace. Right now, I receive your mercy and grace, which is more than sufficient for all I need.

But My righteous one [the one justified by faith] shall live by faith [respecting man’s relationship to God and trusting Him]; And if he draws back [shrinking in fear], My soul has no delight in him.
